About us
We are a small breeding cattery from Prague – Radotín. Our cats are Birman breed. Our name Blue Spring*CZ is derived from spring blue eyes of Birmans. We are members of the Czech Breeders Association – Association of cat breeders, ZO Prague - West and obviously FIFé. In our cattery currently are cats Artemis, Irene, Aisha and pet - tomcat Zack after castration. In our kennel are also me, veterinarian Zuzana, my husband, architect Štěpán and our dog, "purebred crossbred from shelter", Sára.
Our interest in Birmans started in 2007, when I decided to enlarge our family with a purebred cat. I tried to find some cat and from many offers I´d choosed Birman – not only because of their beautiful hair and eyes, but mainly for their character. Maybe I wanted more "a cat-dog" than only a cat that´s why desribed features (never-ending love, communicability and mainly absolute dedication to owner and no aggressiveness) has fascinated me. In that time my target was to find a friend so I made a choice to buy pet - tomcat called Zack.
This amazing representative of this breede (only his socks are not perfect) fascinated me so much
that I decided to buy next Birman. At first I wanted a pet again, but finally I decided that I wanted kittens as well. The choice was clear – it will be a breeding cat. That was the real begining of our cattery, which started with help of a very kind lady Mrs. Roznerová from the Laty Mery cattery, who sold us our first purebred cat Artemis.
After Artemis´s arrival home introducing, login to Association of cat breeders (which is normal in cat breeders world) and first exhibitions started. Currently we are skilled exhibition visitors. We never force our cats to exhibitions indeed and if it is more stress than fun for them we are going around necessary minimum only. More important for us is a breed of cats and kittens in good condition.
Our cats are a very important element of our everyday life. The most important thing for us is their mental and physical condicion. Because of this we always make sure that they have all necessary preventive veterinary care. Our cats go through periodic examinations and health condition tests, tests of potentially possible hereditary defects and also infectious diseases.
Our cats have absolute freedom in our flat, they have their own private space (especially a big cat tree) and they are share our space (not vice versa, we never climb on their tree). They do everything with us and they are used to a normal family life. Our reward for their freedom is their love and caress everytime we sit down.
Currently we are preparing a net for our balcony as next place to go for our cats. We hope they will enjoy this gift.
